10 gift ideas for psoriasis this holiday season

1. For the dry winter air: A humidifier

  • Price: $$

I consider a humidifier a psoriasis must-have — especially in the winter when the air is dry and cold! Maintaining proper humidity in your home can help keep your skin hydrated, which is essential for psoriasis management.

It also helps with breathing and sleeping better. There are so many types and sizes of humidifiers, and you can find lots of options for your convenience.

For example, the LEVOIT Dual 200S Smart Humidifier is great because it can operate via voice control and offers timer settings for automatic functioning.

If you’re looking for a more basic option, the Pure Enrichment MistAire Ultrasonic Humidifier is more simple in technology but still gets the job done!

2. For a softer sleep: Natural Mulberry Silk Pillowcase

  • Price: $

Silk is supposed to be gentle on the skin and hair, reducing friction and irritation. It also helps to regulate temperature and moisture, which may be helpful for your condition, too.

Plus, it feels luxurious and comfortable, making it a cozy addition to any bedroom.

Check out these Natural Mulberry Silk pillowcases, which come in a variety of colors!

3. For your self-care routine: A skin care basket

  • Price: $$

Show them you care with a handcrafted basket full of skin care favorites, including:

  • Dr Teal’s Pure Epsom Salt: These bath salts can be incredibly soothing for psoriasis-prone skin. The magnesium in Epsom salt may help reduce inflammation and can ease discomfort. It’s an ideal treat for both the body and mind. Add to a lukewarm bath and soak in the healing powers.
  • NIVEA Cocoa Butter Body Cream: A high quality moisturizer is a must for psoriasis management. Look for one that is fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, and dermatologist-recommended.
  • Clear Aloe Vera Gel: Aloe has natural anti-inflammatory properties that may help soothe irritated skin. It’s a fantastic addition to a psoriasis skin care routine and to this gift basket. (An alternative would be to include this Costa Farms Aloe Vera so you can get the gel straight from the source!)
  • Supergoop! PLAY Antioxidant Body Mist SPF 30 with Vitamin C: Sun protection is crucial for psoriasis management. While it isn’t always top of mind during the holiday season, sunscreen should be worn all year round and finding a psoriasis-friendly option is key. Look for a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen.

4. For at-home therapy: UVB lamps

  • Price: $$$

Many people with psoriasis find relief from UVB phototherapy.

There are medical-grade lamps that are used in clinics, but there are also some UVB lamps available for purchase online.

For example, this Sunlamlux Light Therapy Lamp is a remote-controlled standing floor lamp that’s adjustable in height.

Another great product is the DermaHealer Handheld UVB Light Therapy Lamp, which is great for targeted therapy.

Be sure to talk with a doctor before using any UVB lamps at home.

5. For staying cozy and relaxed: Syrinx Sherpa Fleece Weighted Blanket

  • Price: $$

Who doesn’t love a cozy, soft blanket? Add in the weighted element and this comfort can also help reduce stress and anxiety, which can be triggers for psoriasis flare-ups.

Check out the Syrinx Sherpa Fleece Weighted Blanket, which is designed to provide a soothing and calming effect by putting pressure on the body, helping with stress, anxiety, insomnia, and pain — all common issues for people with psoriasis.

6. For when your skin just needs something soft: Stars Above Women’s Cozy Robe

  • Price: $

When managing a flare, a simple task like putting on clothes can be painful and uncomfortable. When that’s the case, the Stars Above Women’s Cozy Robe can wrap you up like a warm hug.

The softer, the better, so the material doesn’t rub on a flare.

7. For a relaxing environment: ASAKUKI Premium Essential Oil Diffuser

  • Price: $

Essential oils like lavender and chamomile may promote relaxation and reduce stress, which can benefit someone living with psoriasis.

The ASAKUKI 500 ml Premium Essential Oil Diffuser emits these oils into the air so they can be easily absorbed by the body. It creates a wonderful, calming aroma for the room, too!

Just a few drops can go a long way for getting relaxed.

8. For a helpful hobby: Wiisdatek Notebook Journal

  • Price: $

Writing is one of my hobbies and passions, and I find it very therapeutic and rewarding. I like to write about my thoughts, feelings, experiences, and goals, as well as anything that inspires me.

Living with psoriasis can be as mentally challenging as it is physically. Journaling is a fabulous hobby to track symptoms, both physical and mental, during a flare.

Something simple, like this Wiisdatek Notebook Journal, can be all it takes to help get you started.

9. For an easier way to clean: BLACK+DECKER Cordless Handheld Vacuum

  • Price: $$

It’s a reality that most people living with psoriasis are constantly dealing with flakes. This BLACK+DECKER Handheld Vacuum can make those flakes quickly and easily disappear.

There are many size and weight options to choose from.

10. For making an impact: Donating to a psoriasis charity in their name

  • Price: $-$$$

A gift that can make a difference for many people living with psoriasis is a donation to a psoriasis charity. There are many organizations that work to raise awareness, fund research, and provide support for people living with psoriasis and their families.

For example, the National Psoriasis Foundation is a great organization to support.
